Take 2

Many of you know how last year's trip to visit Santa went. If you don't remember, take a look...

This year we thought things were going to be so different. The last 3 weeks of preparation consisted of, "Cam! You wanna go see Santa?! We go sit on his lap!?" Despite the prep, Cam was brave right up until we were within 3 feet of the guy. The result was the following...

Maybe next year.

tired girl

this is what happens at 4pm when your daughter hasn't taken a nap. for those that know cam well, you know this is a BIG deal to have her lay down and fall asleep.

thank you disney

thank you disney/pixar for making some great movies that keep my daughter entertained so i can get the house cleaned and dinner made!
Toy Story is quickly becoming a favorite of Cam's. She calls it Moo-a....not sure why but, ok. She will say "toy stoy" if you ask her to...but right off the bat she asks for "moo-a pease" Ya, it took me awhile to figure out that one :)

Playing Catch

The other night we played catch as a family. Cam thought it was great fun, however, playing catch wasn't as exciting as when daddy would throw the ball on the roof of the back patio and catch it as it came down. And nothing was as exciting as when daddy had to climb up there to get a ball that was stuck...of course, Cam got distracted when she saw her princess shoes though. Typical, that girl is OBSESSED!!! :) Loves to you all

Andi-lion

Our little Andi Lynn is such a sweet addition to our growing family. She is really such a happy, content baby most of the time. She is a baby, so she does have her moments of crying, especially when she is gassy but really its not that often. It is SO easy to get her to smile whenever she is awake. As soon as you start talking to her she starts smiling, before she even finds you. :) Then as she looks at you and you talk to her she'll start talking to you and I have successfully got her to laugh THREE times! Woo Hoo! :) She doesn't mind tummy time, she loves laying out on the ground and watching her sister, she LOVES her swing and sleeps in it very well. Its so cute because just about every time I put her in her swing she immediately arches her back and is usually asleep within a matter of minutes. She also sleeps very well in her vibrating chair, although she isn't a fan of it vibrating she does love sleeping on her side in it.
Andi also loves her daddy. When he gets home from work and she just hears him talking she starts getting excited and is now starting to try to look around for him....once she finally finds him she is all smiles from ear to ear.
Andi is still a beautiful brunette and we are really hoping to have her stay that way, how fun to have a blondie bombshell and brunette beauty. :) Andi is very tall. She outgrew majority of her 0-3 mo clothing by the time she hit 2 months and now at 2 1/2 months is officially out of all of them. Her 3 month pjs are starting to get a little snug as well length wise. She is also a little chunky which is all too adorable! Just about everyone comments on her double chin. :) She has got these adorable chubby little legs (thighs) too which is SO different than Cam's cute little chicken legs.
Andi LOVES to be held. She is such a little cuddler like everyone else in our family. Know how most babies like to be held a certain way? They like to be held in cradle position, football, upright, etc? Not Andi, she doesn't care how you are holding her just as long as she is being held she is usually content.
Andi is an AWESOME sleeper....well, for the most part. She doesn't always go for very long at a time but she does sleep, morning, noon and night. She usually goes at least 3 hours at a time but sometimes has a night where she is up every 1 1/2 - 2 hours...but usually just to get her paci in her mouth, but we are quickly breaking that habit. Some nights she has slept for 4 hours, then 6 hours and one night last week she slept 11 hours! Heaven sent! :) There has only been one or two nights total that she has been up at night. Really though, she never went through that whole "thinks the day is night and night is day" phase. She is starting to have more and more awake time so within these last two weeks she has got a lot better at sitting (being held of course) and tummy time and all because of the extra practice.
Andi is VERY patient with Cam. I hope this continues! :) She just sits there while Cam practically tortures her and if Cam takes it too far she will cry but then the second Cam stops doing whatever it was she was doing, Andi stops crying. If not, she stops crying pretty much immediately after we pick her up...of course. :)
Ty and I are trying to make sure we enjoy every minute with Andi. We LOVE having a baby again that lets us just hold her and cuddle her and sleeps on our chest and smiles at us....and doesn't say "no" yet. :) We try to make sure we are enjoying every minute with both girls, taking in each phase and pointing out the good but I must admit it is a little easier to do with the second because you realize how fast they grow up with the first! I LOVE our girls and can't imagine our life without them.
Thank you Andi Lynn for being such a good girl and bringing so much love and happiness into our home! We love you Andilion!

how cute is she?!

It's official....

Cam has officially hit the "terribly terrific twos". Here is a guide (in my opinion) on how I know

You know you're child is in the "terrible twos" when she....

gives you the cold shoulder because she is upset you won't let her watch Cinderella again immediately after it finishes
throws a fit because you told her to please not hit her sister
she says "no" to just about everything you say. even if she turns around and immediately does what was asked of her
she does just about anything to try to get a reaction
gives up quickly on tantrums once she realizes she is not getting, nor will she get, a reaction
stomps her foot and scowls to show you how she really feels about nap time
throws herself on the floor dramatically during her tantrums....which now happen multiple times a day over the smallest things
has suddenly developed "selective hearing syndrome" and mastered it within a day
almost immediately succumbs to whining when asking for what she wants even though she hasn't even tried asking nicely first
gets upset when she isn't given what she wants, when she wants it

Now, on the other hand, you know your child has hit the "terrific twos" when she....

loves to cuddle with you first thing every morning and last thing before bed at night
gives you kisses and hugs whenever you ask for them and sometimes just because she wants to
loves to be sung to every night and reminds you if she thinks you've forgotten
is starting to sing all the songs with you
loves to wrestle and play "tickle monster"
thinks you are AMAZING when you pretend to be her pony and let her ride on your back
loves to snuggle in your lap while you read to her
tells you she loves you (or "ove ew" in Cam's words)
asks for you when she is sad or hurt
sings the clean up song while putting away her toys every night (in cam's words "keen up, keen up, eh bud eh way"
greets you with a big "HHHIIII!!!" just about every time she (or you) walk in the room
walks around with her purse on one shoulder, sunglasses on, pushing her baby in her stroller while talking on her phone
says please and thank you
reminds you to say your prayers
wants to include Andi in everything we do
loves to read to her baby and to Andi
puts her hand on Andi's head and says "shhhhh...ok andi" when Andi is crying
shakes your hand and says "ni to mee you" (nice to meet you)
loves to give butterfly kisses
gets excited over the little things in life
is a great example to you
is content playing by herself but adores playing with you
makes you feel like a million bucks!
can talk FOREVER/good story teller...making herself laugh throughout all of it
wants to be included in everything you do
is such a girlie girl and doesn't try to hide it!
loves to help you clean, cook, workout...just about anything you do, she is there by your side
mimics everything you say or do...loves to learn...constantly observing everything around her
won't let you ever leave the house without saying "ove ew. i want tisses" and then giving you multiple kisses
and my favorite thing....calls me mommy

As you can see, the "terrifics" FAR out way the "terribles". Every tantrum is worth it when you get love and kisses later. We love you Cambryn. Thanks for being SUCH A GOOD GIRL!!!!

Fun Weekend

My parents, grandparents and aunt Lori came into town this weekend for Andi's baby blessing. The weekend was a lot of fun but way too short if you ask me. Saturday we went to our ward's Halloween trunk or treat party and Cam got to go trick or treating for the first time. She didn't get it at first but was loving it by the end, although still shy. At the beginning she would take a piece of candy out of their bucket after we told her to but then when we told her to put it in her basket she would put it back in their bucket. Once she finally got the concept that she got to put the candy in her basket and keep it she went much faster, however, when we got to a car that was passing out bookmarks and candy she was WAY more into the bookmarks. She seemed a little overwhelmed by it all but I think she had a good time. She obviously doesn't really get Halloween yet because she hasn't asked for candy once. Out of sight out of mind. :) Cam's favorite part of the whole experience probably was when Emma (her cousin) showed up. Of course her first words out of her mouth were "Emma! Look my shoes!" She than was fascinated that Emma also had a princess on her dress. They are too cute together. After the party my parents treated us to Cafe Rio. Always a favorite of ours! Then we went home and met up with my Grandma and Grandpa Regas and Aunt Lori for awhile.
Sunday was a whirlwind of a day. Mom and I spent the morning starting to prepare food while dad watched the girls so we could do all of this. (Ty had a meeting) Then we rushed off to church and Ty gave Andi a BEAUTIFUL blessing and although Andi was crying through the majority of it (looks like topping her off didn't work the way we had hoped!) it wasn't very loud so we could still hear the blessing loud and clear. Our good friends the Bawdens also blessed their daughter in our ward following Andi's so that was fun to share that special day together! Immediately following sacrament meeting we went back to our place for a luncheon and enjoyed all of our family's company. We decided not to do a lot of photos because everyone was hungry and we thought we would just get started and take pics of everyone socializing so we had document of who was there BUT I meant to at least get pics of Andi by herself and of her with each set of grandparents but I totally forgot! So we need to get her back in her blessing dressing (which my mom made) and her blanket (which my mother-in-law made) and do another photo shoot by herself and again, with grandparents. Grandma Kit and Papa Jack...we are bummed you guys had to leave early for several reasons but especially because we didn't get any pictures with you first! At Thanksgiving we need to! We watched Funniest Home Videos and Amazing Race and then we played Imaginiff with my parents which was A LOT of fun and we learned more about each other....my parents learned some new things about Ty and I learned that my dad is more high-maitenance than I thought ;)
This afternoon we went to lunch at Jason's Deli and toured Ty's work before my parents had to head back home. Again, it was WAY too short of a trip, wish they all could have stayed a little longer but we are SO grateful to have had so much family here for that special day. Thank you R Ormes, G'ma Lila, Regas', Lori, Mom & Dad, Barkers and all the Browns for coming to the blessing and helping us celebrate, again, Andi being here and apart of our family. We love you all!

Dumb buck

Andi is crying as I'm in the kitchen getting her bottle so I say "I'm hurrying pumpkin"

Cam, who has to repeat everything we say, says, "I huying dumb buck"

Curious if "dumb buck" was really suppose to be "pumpkin" I ask Cam to say "pumpkin"

She proudly smiles, nods her head and say, "Dumb buck!"

Too cute

What Matters Most

My gratitude for my family has been overwhelming lately. I love Tyson and the girls SO much and can't imagine what it would be like without them. A young women in my yw class recently lost her dad. He was young and as healthy as can be. Only 40 and very active, ran marathons, went to the gym regularly, etc but tragically passed away after having a hear attack while out running. He is a father of 6, the oldest being 18, the youngest 5. It has been emotional watching the family go through such a hard time and during times like this we are reminded the importance of never taking our family for granted. There are so many things that can bother us if we let them but we must ask ourselves, "in the grand scheme of things does this really matter?" The truth is, we never know when our time on this earth will be up, but when it is will we leave knowing that our family left behind knew/knows how much we loved them and appreciated them? And if we have to experience losing them first did they know before they crossed the veil how much we loved and appreciated them or will we live with the regret of wishing we had let go of the petty things and enjoyed our time with them more. Expressed our love to them more.
I have been wanting to blog of my love for my family since the death of Clint but it has seemed so overwhelming. I often times don't even know how to put in words how I feel because I feel they will never do justice. I love my husband, children and extended family SO much. I am grateful for their examples, their testimonies, their service, support and love and above all their friendship. I especially want my girls and my husband to know of the profound love I have for them. Know that I have a strong testimony of the gospel and I bear testimony that there is nothing but truth to be found in it. I am so grateful for the knowledge we have of the plan of salvation and am eternally grateful for my Savior, for through Him we will be an eternal family. I feel so blessed to be your wife Tyson and enjoy every minute of our marriage, even any challenges because it draws us closer together. I could not have asked for a better husband for me and truly can not put into words how grateful I am to be your eternal companion. I am also so grateful to be a mother to two truly beautiful daughters. You girls are SO beautiful inside and out and are such great examples to me already. I look forward to growing closer together and having many memories that will last forever. Thank you for the sweet spirit you bring into our home! Thank you to my family for helping me become who I am today. I love how close we are as a family and am so grateful for my relationships with each of you. To my in-laws, thank you for helping Tyson become the man he is today and for all of your continuous support!
My brother posted an amazing video on my family blog and after watching it I came across this one and it really sums up exactly how I have been feeling lately. I am so grateful for this learning experience I have had lately and for the reminder to show those around me my love and appreciation EVERYDAY. My heart and prayers go out to the Blaser family. Clint really was an amazing man and an example to all around him...he was truly a missionary till the day he died and continues to be in the next life I'm sure. He loved his family so much, we could see it in his face every time he was interacting with them (we sat behind them every Sunday) and I hope that people can see my love for my family in the same way. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved

Our Girls

Cam - as you read earlier she loves to talk. she also loves chocolate, doing anything outside...especially going for walks and swinging at the park, helping mommy bake, giving hugs and kisses (one of my favorite things she says is "I want kisses!"), reading books, still loves her fruits and vegetables but is getting better at eating other foods too, climbing on things (especially the kitchen table:(), playing with her cousin Emma, playing "mommy" and mimicking just about everything we do and say. One of my favorite things she mimics is comforting her baby. When I am standing up bouncing Andi while she cries Cam will come stand next to me with her baby and bounce her up and down and say "shhhhh" over and over. When she sees Andi's paci she will grab it and put in her mouth backwards (with the handle part in her mouth) like I sometimes do. She LOVES to stroll her baby around while wearing her purse and talking on my cell phone. She doesn't hold the cell phone in her hand, she holds it by putting it in between her shoulder and ear. So cute. She also likes to sit on her "pincess cow" (princess couch) to eat her snacks and drink her milk at night....of course her baby is usually next to her at this time as well. She goes down for bed time easily as long as she has....you guessed it, her baby with her. She loves her baby, who's name changes on a daily basis. Usually Abby, Emma or Katie. One other thing Cam is very into right now is playing on the computer. She loves playing the Sesame Street games on PBS.com. She LOVES Elmo and talks about him a lot and loves to "pay elmo" Cam uses her manners to her advantage. If she asks for something and we say "Maybe later" or "I don't know" she gives us this adorable puppy dog look and says "PEASSSSE?!" This of course melts my heart and makes it very hard to say no, I still do if I have to but I like to give in when I can. :) After General Conference ended we stayed sitting on the couch watching the Prophet walk out...I have never seen Cam sit so still. She was completely mesmerized. Then he started to wave she got this huge grin on her face and started waving back....I cried. :) It really was the sweetest thing and the spirit was so strong as we explained to her that was our prophet and she sat so still and listened to us. All in all Cam is just about the cutest toddler and really does keep us entertained. We couldn't imagine our life without her. I really do feel like I can't say enough about her....I could talk about her all day, she just does SO many cute things! :)
Andi Lynn - Andi loves all the usual things newborn babies love....sleeping, eating, smiling and of course, pooping. However, sometimes she has a hard time with the latter and gets pretty fussy. This really only happens at nights/early mornings...like from 2 in the morning until 6ish. :( Not every night but more often than we would like. At first we thought it was due to chocolate so I cut that out of my diet but after about 2 weeks of that we realized it probably wasn't that...I still eat very little in case it is but I'm guessing not, she seems to just have bad nights which is typical of newborns I'm guessing. Cam burped well and pooped like a champ so this is all new to us. When Andi is awake she smiles easily and LOVES to stare at her sister. She is trying to make cooing sounds but has a hard time....its SO cute though because you can see the intense concentration in her face but she can't quite get it out yet. :) Andi had a hard time gaining weight at first and we had to go in for an extra weight check cause they were a little worried. Her weight check looked good and they said as long as she continued on that road she should be fine...we just needed to make sure she was at or past her birth weight by 2 weeks. (8lb 9oz) Well at her 2 wks she was 10lb 3oz. Yes, my milk finally came in and it must be cream like :) Andi is such a joy to have....we love our newest little addition to the family, and we now feel that much more complete!
Ty and I are loving being parents to these two beautiful girls. They bring so much joy to us and such a sweet spirit into our home. We really do learn so much from watching these two innocent spirits interact. As for how we are doing....great. Ty is busy with work and his calling (1st counselor in the EQ Presidency) and spending any extra free time helping me around the house and most importantly with his daughters. Cam ADORES him and can't wait for him to come home everyday. I stay busy trying to keep this house somewhat clean and organized, working on my calling, and playing with the girls. We finally got our car fixed and get it back tomorrow....SO excited about that! I feel like I can have more of a life again. I can start going to mothers group again, do more for my calling, get out of the house when I'm going stir crazy...the list goes on. The weather is starting to cool down so we are also going on lots of walks to the park down the street from us. Yes, the weather is nice...its down to the high 80s/low 90s! :) At nights its down in the 70s so we can have the windows open....LOVE it! As for the video below, they are some recent pictures of when we each girl, our trip to the zoo and carving pumpkins with Ty's family. As for the zoo, we have season passes and have enjoyed going but especially lately since Cam is getting more and more into it. Especially the petting zoo part...she loves to pet the goats! There is also a splash pad there that she loves playing in....she has so much fun walking around in the little river and going under the waterfall....the sad thing is she looks after the older kids wishing she could run around with them but can never quite seem to keep up with them. And she can't understand why we won't let her go down the slide, which is way to big for her to go down by herself because it literally shoots you out and there is no way I'm going down in my clothes. :) Well this quick post has turned into more of a novel....surprise, surprise. ;) Love you all! Thanks for all your support and love during these last couple weeks/month...it has made the transition into being parents of two much easier! LOVES.

Awwwwesome!

Cam's new word is "awesome" and that is what it is....awesomely cute! Wow that was a cheesy line. Anyway, we always get her to say it because she sounds so cute. Sometimes for a treat I will give Cam a couple chocolate chips....sometimes she would just come up to me and ask for them. "I want chips" she would say. Well one day she came up and said "I want b****" WHAT?! Finally I figured out she was asking for chocolate chips. For a couple days she would say that word every time we tried getting her to say chips but finally she went back to saying chips. Thank goodness! Cam is a little talking machine. She loves to ask for things "I want______" and "Where is ________?" are her most commonly used sentences. She also speaks jibberish a lot but its super cute. She loves to tell stories to her doll and sing the alphabet (her version of course...she only knows a couple of the actual letters) to Andi. She also loves to read her numbers book to Andi but she just says "1, 2, 3" over and over while turning the pages. This girl entertains us more and more everyday as she gets cuter and cuter with her words, sentences and expressions. We love you Cam a lams!!!
